Activity for children should be about fun.  It's about being active with their friends and having a good time.  Physical activity is an essential part of leading and maintaining a healthy lifestyle and through today's media we are only too aware of the childhood obesity issues. 

Children and young people should aim to participate in activity of moderate intensity for one hour every day.  The one hour doesn't have to be done all at once, it can be built up over the day.  

Did you know that physical activity can:

• Help build a healthy heart and develop strong muscles and bones
• Reduce the risk of some chronic diseases in later life
• Make children feel good about themselves
• Help them stay fit and trim
• Help them meet loads of new friends

Here at Live Active Leisure we offer a range of activities aimed at pre-school and school age children: 

Active Steps SessionsACTIVE STEPS - Is about your child taking their first steps to active living.  Whether that be in a swimming pool or on a bouncy castle, our activities encourage social development and basic motor skills.  Active Steps sessions are aimed at pre-school children aged 18 months to 5 years and include activities such as Swimming, Gymnastics and Football.

Active Fun BasketballACTIVE FUN - For children of primary school age exercise should be about fun.  Our aim is to provide that and with such a huge range of activities on offer throughout our centres, we're sure that there is something for everyone.  Activities include Trampolining, Kayaking, Football and Racket Sports to name a few.
