PERTH CITY SWIM CLUB - “Committed to Excellence”
Competitive swimming for ages 6+ at all levels
Perth City Swim Club, formerly known as Perth Pullars was established in 1890. The club is affiliated to Perth & Kinross Sports Council as well as the SASA and Midlands District Amateur Swimming Association. It is a competitive club with 2 teams in the Midland District Leagues. The club has recently had swimmers in the Scottish Youth Squad at School level. The club is managed by a committee of volunteers with coaching carried out by a voluntary coaching team led by Ann Dickson, Scottish Junior Coach of the Year 1998 and Scottish Female Coach of the Year 1999. Ann is also the coach for the Midland District and Impact Swimming Squads.
The aims of the club are to improve and develop swimmers who have come through the teaching programmes run by Perth Leisure Pool and to take them forward into the competitive swimming arena. New members will usually commence training as part of the club night.
Friday night is club night between 6.00pm and 9.00pm. The cost of membership to the club is currently £22.00 - paid annually. To join you must:

PERTH MASTERS SWIMMING CLUB
Swimming for adults aged 25+ (All applicants must be 25+ to satisfy SASA regulations)
Perth Masters Swimming Club exists primarily to achieve fitness and fun through the constant improvement of the swimming technique and ability of members.
The club currently has between 20 and 30 members of varying standards and is always looking for new recruits. Come along to Perth Leisure Pool for 9.15pm every Tuesday, pick a lane that suits your pace and give it a whirl.
Affiliated to Scottish Amateur Swimming Association (SASA), the Club regularly takes part in competitive events. There is no pressure upon members to compete but many have risen to the challenge and enjoyed the experience. (The post event parties are legendary incidentally). PERTH SUB AQUA CLUB
Minimum age to take part is 18 years
Perth Sub Aqua club was formed by a small group of enthusiasts in 1963. Since then the club has gone from strength to strength, maturing into one of the most respected in Britain. Through fund-raising efforts and the salvaging of their own 2000 tonne vessel the “SS Island”, a wreck in the Forth of Forth, the club has assembled a massive array of diving equipment and a boat.
Club members have played their part assisting harbour and police authorities in recovery and salvage work and as members of Perth & Kinross Sports Council have assisted in promoting 'Come & Try' sessions at Perth Leisure Pool.
Perth Sub Aqua Club train at Perth Leisure Pool every Wednesday, from 8.30pm to 9.30pm during the months of October to May. From June to October, the club meet on the first Wednesday of every month from 8.00pm to 9.00pm.

These do not teach you how to dive but will provide you with experience utilising underwater breathing apparatus and snorkelling equipment along with advice on what to buy and the costs. (Advance bookings are taken at PLP reception, if possible please book in advance - spaces are limited.)
Pre-Holiday Course or Refresher Course
If you are thinking of a holiday with diving or snorkelling, individual instruction is given on basic buddy diving skills and familiarity with equipment plus advice on where to dive. The cost of a one hour evening course is £10.00 plus pool admission. All equipment can be provided but bring your own if you wish, including a t-shirt or pool suit.

THE DOLPHINS - The Perth Leisure Pool Disabled Club
The Dolphins formed in January 1989 with the backing of Perth & Kinross Sports Council and Live Active Leisure. Both organisations were very much aware of the demand for the club, which could provide disabled access to the swimming pool. A weekly slot was offered in the training pool, plus concessionary entry fees for club members.
The Dolphins aim is to provide a friendly environment in which any physically disabled or person with learning disabilities can gain enjoyment from the relaxing effect of water regardless of the ability.
Open to all ages the club meets every Sunday 10am - 11am and 5pm - 6pm. New members must be accompanied by a helper in the first instance, who is able to swim, but this need can be assessed from time to time.
Anyone who would like more information about the club, either as a Member of a volunteer helper should contact any of the following: Karen Steel, 01738 454666.
