COVID-19: FAQs

We are pleased to announce that Perth and Kinross will move into Level 3 of the Scottish Government protection levels from 26/04/21, meaning some of our venues will reopen. 

We appreciate you will have a lot of questions, many of which we hope will be answered below.  

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this continued challenging time.

VENUES

Q. WHICH OF YOUR VENUES ARE CURRENTLY OPEN? 

Following the most recent advice from the Scottish Government, the following venues and services are now reopen:

Q. ARE YOU OFFERING THE SAME ACTIVITIES AND SERVICES IN ALL VENUES? 

Initially the range of activities offered, opening hours and the number of customers we can accommodate will be limited in comparison to our pre-covidoffer. By taking a phased approach to reopening we are giving ourselves the best possible foundations on which to recover and grow. As we start to re-open our venues and services, it will be gradual, and done in a way that ensures we attract customers back but also, very importantly, in a way that’s financially sustainable.

Q. ARE YOUR SWIMMING POOLS OPEN?

Please see above opening information regarding swimming pools. Perth Leisure Pool remains closed for the time being due to the flood damage, further announcements will be made once detailed surveys have been completed and guidance is available.

Q. ARE ANY OF YOUR VENUES  VACCINATION CENTRES? 

Yes, currently both Dewars Centre and Live Active Atholl are currently being used as Vaccination Centres and will remain closed to the public for the time being.

Q. ARE THE COMMUNITY HALLS OPEN?

Q. IS THE ATHLETICS ARENA OPEN?

Yes, the track is now open for 'Paces' registered clubs, who self-manage their groups. Unfortunately, at this time there is no public access for casual use.

 

MEMBERSHIP  

Q. WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO MY DIRECT DEBIT FITNESS MEMBERSHIP?  

We are in the process of contacting all members with information.  Direct Debit memberships will be reinstated from 26thApril, with the first payment due from 1st June 2021; giving members this period for free.  Members will have the opportunity to continue with their freeze should they wish.  You can do this by completing this form.

Perth Leisure Pool remains closed for maintenance due to the flood which happened last year and Live Active Atholl is closed due to the venue being used as a vaccination centre. If you are a member at either of these venues your membership will remain frozen, you do not need to do anything.  However if you would like to use other venues until they reopen, you can reinstate your membership >>> HERE

Q. CAN I PURCHASE A FITNESS MEMBERSHIP?

Q. WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO MY ANNUAL FITNESS? 

Similar to Direct Debit members, Annual memberships will be reinstated from 26th April and will have the number of days you’ve been unable to use our venues added to your membership. 

Q. I THINK MY LIVE ACTIVE CARD HAS EXPIRED, WHAT DO I NEED TO DO? 

You don’t need to do anything just now.  We’ll ensure ensure all Live Active card, concession, compass or corporate subscriptions are automatically extended relevant to the period you are entitled too.    

ADULT ACTIVITIES & BOOKING

Q. WILL I NEED TO BOOK FOR AN ACTIVITY, OR CAN I JUST TURN UP?

We will require all customers to book and pay online for their chosen activity.  Fitness members, with an active membership will be able to book 2 weeks in advance and everyone else up to 1 week in advance.

Q. WILL THERE BE A TIME LIMIT FOR ACTIVITIES?

Gym and swim sessions will be 1 hour long. 

Q. HOW DO I CANCEL A BOOKED ACTIVITY?

To cancel a booking please log into your Book Online account and select ‘Manage My Bookings’ from the menu. You’ll then be able to select the booking(s) you wish to cancel.  We ask that customers do not contact us by email or phone to cancel their bookings as we are dealing with a large number of enquiries and may not be able to cancel your booking in time.

Q. I WANT TO USE YOUR GYMS, BUT I HAVEN'T COMPLETED A GYM INDUCTION?

Q. ARE ALL ACTIVITIES AVAILABLE NOW YOU HAVE REOPENED?

Our programme of activities and services is currently reduced, but we’ll take every opportunity to increase them as we go forward. Any changes or amendments to the range of activities offered will be communicated through our social media, website and customer newsletters.

Q. ARE INDOOR FITNESS CLASSES ALLOWED?

Our Fitness Classes are currently available. You’ll find class timetables on our venue pages and book sessions using our Book Online system.

We continue to offer a virtual class programme and on demand classes which can be found on our YouTube channel.

JUNIOR ACTIVITIES & BOOKING

Q. WHEN WILL TERM TIME CLASSES RESTART IN MY LOCAL VENUE? 

Wee Springers, Gymnastics and Football have returned, you can find out more here.

Q. CAN I BOOK A BIRTHDAY PARTY FOR MY CHILD AT ONE OF YOUR VENUES?

No, this service is not currently available in any Live Active venues.

Q. IS THE CRECHE OPEN?

As our creche is located in Perth Leisure Pool and this venue is currently closed, this service will be unavailable at this time.

GYMNASTICS & WEE SPRINGERS

Q. HAVE THE SESSIONS RESTARTED?

We’re delighted that our Gymnastics and Wee Springers restarted as follows:

Gymnastics – from Monday 10th May 2021
Wee Springers – from Tuesday 11th May 2021

This block of sessions will run for 10 weeks until the week beginning 12th July.

Q. ARE THE LOCALITY SESSIONS RESTARTING?

We continue to work in partnership with Perth and Kinross Council regarding access and will share any updates as we have them, but we will continue to offer all Gymnastics and Wee Springers classes from Bell's Sports Centre in the meantime.

Q. WILL IT BE IN THE SAME SPACE IN BELL’S SPORTS CENTRE?

Yes, Gymnastics and Wee Springer sessions will continue to take place in the Main Arena, however this term we’ll benefit from having a larger space to tumble around in. 

Q. I WANT TO CHANGE THE DAY/TIME MY CHILD ATTENDS, WHO DO I CONTACT?

Q. MY WEE SPRINGER WILL BE MOVING INTO PRIMARY 1 IN AUGUST, DO I NEED TO JOIN A WAITING LIST?

SWIMMING & SWIMMING LESSONS  

Q. IS PERTH LEISURE POOL OPEN?

No, Perth Leisure Pool suffered significant damage during the storms and flooding in August 2020.  The work was estimated to take around 12 months to complete.  Keep an eye on our website for any updates. 

Q. CAN MY CHILD GO LANE SWIMMING?

Currently, sessions are available only to adults or young people at secondary school aged 11 and over. Everyone attending must be able to comply with the lane swimming etiquette.

We do however have Family Swimming sessions available in all our pools, check your local venue timetables for more information.

Q. WHAT WILL HAPPEN WITH MY CHILD’S SWIMMING DIRECT DEBIT? 

All DD payments are currently frozen and will restart on 1st May. All customers should have received an email from us with detailed information about lessons including details on your class day and time.  

Please note if you have cancelled your direct debit payment at the bank, your child will have been removed from the lesson programme and you will be required to re-enrol.  Please   email This email address is being protected from spambots. Q. WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW BEFORE MY CHILD RETURNS TO SWIMMING LESSONS?

Q. I WANT TO CANCEL MY SWIMMING LESSON DIRECT DEBIT; HOW DO I DO THIS?

Q. HOW DO I BOOK MY CHILD IN FOR SWIMMING LESSONS?

We are currently working to move all those who were attending prior to lock down into the new term so our waiting lists are closed. Any updates on available spaces or waiting lists reopening will be shared on our website and social media pages.

Q. Why has my direct debit increased from £17 to £20? 

Your child's lessons increase to £20 when they turn 5 years old. We have frozen swimming lesson prices for 2021.

Q. When are 1-2-1 lessons going to restart? 

We continue to follow Scottish Swimming guidelines which advises 1-2-1 lessons are not currently permitted. 

Q. The time and/or day I have been allocated is no longer suitable, how do I change this?

Q. My child is struggling in their current lessons, what can I do?

If your child’s instructor feels they are struggling, they will contact you to discuss options for other classes to help them.

Q. I missed a direct debit, what do I need to do?

Q. I would like to enrol another child into swimming lessons, how do I do this?

We are currently not able to take any new bookings and our waiting lists are closed. Any updates to this will be shared on our website and social media pages.

Q. How can I find out who my child’s instructor is?

Q. My child no longer wants to participate in lessons, how do I can my Direct Debit?

To do this just drop us an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.and we will remove your child from lessons and will cancel your direct debit for you. Please do not cancel your direct debit at the bank without notifying us.
 

PERTH LEISURE POOL RELOCATED SWIMMING LESSONS

Q. My child has been taking part in lessons in another venue, when will lessons move back to Perth Leisure Pool? 

We will be contacting you by email in August with more information on when your child will return to lessons at Perth Leisure Pool (please ensure the contact details we have for you are up to date).

Q. Will my childhave the same lesson time as they had previously? 

They might not get the same lesson time as they did previously, but we will send you a list of all available lessons times when we send you an application form. 

Q. How do I change the day or time of my child's class before lessons restart at Perth Leisure Pool?

Q. My child is in pre-school lessons at Loch Leven, but they go to school in August what will happen? 

We will move your child into Primary School lessons but will give you more information on this when we contact you in July/August.

Q. My child is enjoying lessons in their alternative venue, do they have to move back to Perth Leisure Pool?

Mid-week lesson participants are welcome to stay at their current venue. We will not be continuing weekend lessons at Live Active Loch Leven and Strathearn Community Campus when Perth Leisure Pool re-opens. They can either find an alternative day and time at their current venue or move back to Perth Leisure Pool. 

Q. My child is ready to move up to the next level, when will this happen?

As soon as your child achieves the class criteria, they will be moved to the next level at the venue they're currently attending.

 

SPORTS & CLUB  

Q. I HAD A CLUB BLOCK BOOKING IN ONE OF YOUR VENUES, IS MY SPACE STILL AVAILABLE? 

We’re in the process of contacting all clubs but please be aware, it may not be possible for you to return to the same session you had prior to lockdown.  We will work with you to find a way to accommodate your club and, as facilities become available, we’ll provide further detail with regards to booking and operational arrangements.

Q. WHY IS CLUB SWIMMING AT STRATHEARN COMMUNITY CAMPUS AND LIVE ACTIVE BLAIRGOWRIE ABLE TO GO AHEAD?

The layout of Strathearn Community Campus and Live Active Blairgowrie allows us to control our access to our side of the building and therefore, we can ensure that community users and school pupils do not share the same space or come into contact with one another offering more flexibility.

Q. CAN I BOOK A SPORTSHALL SESSION?

Families and children and young people up to the age of 17 can now participate in indoor non-contact sports.  

From 17th May if restrictions allow, outdoor adult contact group activities will be permitted.
