Key benefits of BodyAttack

Increases functional fitness burns calories, tones & shapes Builds stamina Improves coordination & agility Burn up to 555 calories per 55 min class

How does it work?

During steady-state cardio such as running, rowing or walking, exercisers reach a certain level of exertion and maintain that for the duration of the workout. On the other hand, if you’re doing a HIIT workout you’ll reach intensity peaks pushing 95 percent plus of your maximum heart rate, followed by periods of complete rest and recovery.

BodyAttack is a Cardio Peak Training workout - so a hybrid of the two. This maintains your heart rate at an aerobic training base, between 60 and 80 percent of your maximum heart rate, and intersperses it with peaks of intensity pushing you into higher training zones.BodyAttack2

This means you get the best of both worlds; the endurance that comes from steady-state cardio and the transformative fat burning benefits from the spikes of higher intensity.

What is Functional Training?

Functional training is having a bit of a moment and although it may sound like another workout to fit in, its actually just a phrase used to describe exercises that replicate total body movements and patterns seen in daily activities. BodyAttack was built on this premise – another reason it has stood the test of time!

By incorporating multi-joint movement patterns, it provides strength and mobility that is transferrable to other tasks in everyday life - whether that’s picking a toddler up off the floor, getting up off the couch or improving your golf swing!

The benefits can also be seen when training at low and moderate intensities, and the most important thing is to do the basics really well.
